What can you expect from a Disability Day Program?

Our Disability Day Programs are designed to focus on developing life and social skills, independence and cultivating a sense of community. There is a range of both individual and group activities to explore that prioritise structure and skill development. We want our participants to explore their interests and choose an activity that is best suited for them. An example of the activities you can expect includes:

Some of the activities require full-day participation, whilst others require a couple of hours in the day. Our team of support workers are present during the program to monitor the control of the environment and to ensure that safety and well-being are prioritised. The program will typically be tailored to the individual participant’s needs so that they can maximise the benefits of the experience.

Why are Disability Day Programs important?

The activities during a Disability Day Program are created to support skill development, community engagement and social inclusion. The program ensures that participants feel safe whilst benefiting from:

Structured Routine

By participating in scheduled activities, individuals can benefit from a predictable routine that allows for consistency and minimises anxiety.

Improved Mental and Physical Well-being

Through regular activity and social communication, the programs can help to reduce stress in individuals and boost their mood.

Personal Growth

The activities on offer help develop essential daily skills, including: cooking, personal care and vocational skills.

Access to Guided Support

With our Disability Day Programs, our trained staff are on-hand to provide support and assistance, ensuring that our participants feel safe and encouraged.

You can expect the above benefits from our Disability Day Programs. However, they also benefit the families of the participants by offering them respite and confidence in knowing that their family members are safe in a controlled environment.
